Scientology

Student Selected Topic:
Corruption in the Church of Scientology

Initial search in EBSCO & ProQuest:
Corrupt* AND Scientology

The search did not find many results.

To broaden the search,
try a broader keyword such as cult* : cult* AND Scientology

or search for the keyword "Scientology" only and look through the results to help you choose a different keyword. There are only a little over 40 articles in EBSCOhost dealing with the subject of Scientology that are more than one page long and aren't about Tom Cruise or John Travolta.

    Student Selected Topic:
Horse Slaughtering in the United States

    Initial search in EBSCOhost:

    To broaden the search, try:
Horse* AND Slaughter* AND United States

Locate Books of Quotations - Search the CBC Library Catalog

NOTE: When searching books of quotations use single keywords that represent the broad themes of your speech, not the specific keywords that you would use to search for information. For instance, if you were doing a speech on health insurance:
    • Good thematic keywords - health, illness, doctor
    • Too specific - health insurance, medicaid, healthcare costs
